About
My name is Ryan Carney and you’re reading my about page. So here’s a little about me: I am currently finishing up my second master’s degree (I’m a glutton for punishment) at Ball State University’s Center for Information and Communication Sciences. I am very interested in usability and user experience, which I get to study each and every day as a project manager with Insight & Research at the Center for Media Design.
I’m also a research associate with the Digital Policy Institute, so if you read long enough, you might find a post or two about law and policy in the digital arena.
One last thing… “Eolaí.” What the heck is it and what does it mean? Eolaí, pronounced “ole-ee” or “yole-ee” is a Gaelic word for guide or scientist. As someone of the Irish decent, I wanted a unique word to describe how I see myself and the purpose of this blog. And acting as your guide through the world of technology is exactly the role I’d like for this blog to fill.
If you have any questions, comments, queries, or concerns, feel free to leave a comment and I will respond promptly.
